Aparicio Caicedo is currently the senior counselor to the President of Ecuador. He is also the director of the Center for Studies in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Universidad de las Américas (UDLA), and he directs the think tank Ecuador Libre. Aparicio has a PhD from the University of Navarra, and he has been a visiting scholar at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). He is professor of political philosophy at Universidad de las Américas. Advisor to the Presidency of the Basque Parliament in Spain, 2009-2012. He has published several books, including El New Deal del Comercio Global (Unión Editorial-Juan de Mariana, 2012) and Noche larga, no liberal: realidad detrás del mito populista (FEL, 2019).
